Our 7 Favorite Looks From the Milan Fashion Week SS25

Fashion month is in full swing, with each weekly event bringing a fresh wave of trends. Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025 just wrapped up, and each of the stunning looks presented will undoubtedly influence wardrobes everywhere.

The week started with Fendi’s centenary collection, followed by Prada on Thursday, Gucci on Friday, and Bottega Veneta on Saturday. With an extra day added to the Milan schedule, the excitement only grew, featuring big names like Versace and up-and-comers like Boss and Del Core. Here are some of our favorite collections from MFW SS25 that really caught our attention.

1. Fendi

Fendi opened MFW SS25 with its centenary collection that paid homage to the Roaring ‘20s, a time of decadence and liberation. Kim Jones took the theme beyond the typical narrative of the brand’s rise to cover the entire cultural scenario during the brand’s founding year, 1925.

Demure layering and lightweight fabrics were key elements of the collection, bringing a modern twist to the era’s iconic fashion. However, what truly stole our hearts was undoubtedly the finale, where a massive cube mechanism revealed the models in all their glory, underscoring the collection’s grandeur.

2. Prada

Prada, known for its boundary-pushing vision and style, has lived up to its name again with its MFW spring/summer retro-futurism collection. The brand followed a concept of old and new, familiar and foreign. Portraying “elements from different eras coexisting simultaneously to challenge any theory of chronology, creating impossible contradictions.”

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons presented a compilation of looks from 1950s brassieres worn with harness skirts to 60s sci-fi metallics paired with 90s minimalist knits and 70s-inspired bow blouses accessorized with alien-like sunglasses.

3. Gucci

The show notes for Gucci’s runway show described its design aesthetics as “Casual Grandeur.” Sabato de Sarno took the brand aesthetic a step further for the next season, blending the designs with his sartorial obsessions, with tailoring, lingerie, leather, and 60s silhouettes. De Sarno told The New York Times, “I’m more real” than his predecessors, debuting a collection of wearable garments.

Models walked the runway in miniskirt suits, wide-brimmed sun hats, driving gloves, and wraparound sunglasses, recalling the retro glamor all over the signature Gucci Rosso backdrop.

4. Boss

At the Boss Show Spring 2025, the brand featured the “Out of Office” theme, letting guests escape the bustle of urban life and reconnect with nature. The show took place at Milan’s iconic Palazzo del Senato; however, this time around, Boss turned the Archive of State into a botanical oasis.

The collection presented pieces that easily transitioned from the in-office look to dinner with friends. Models walked onto a mirrored runway through tall grasses, pushing the conventional parameters of corporate attire with each step forward.

5. Del Core

Beyond being the founder and creative director of his namesake brand, Del Core, Daniel Del Core is also an amazing storyteller. His recent spring collection in Milan proved that. The narrative followed the daily routine of a studious and dedicated scientist, an obsessive-compulsive fashionista, and a Del Core fan.

The first two looks featured sheer white lab coats accessorized with a vintage copy of the book Frankenstein, and some walked in satin gowns that melted into flowing chiffon. As the shows continued, the scientist was seen shedding her nerdy self and becoming a fashion fanatic all night, occasionally trading Frankenstein for a chic leather handbag.

6. Versace

Versace took over the Castle Sforzesco with a vibrant display of psychedelic prints and eclectic styling. Donatella Versace’s vision combined elements of Paris Hilton’s party-girl aesthetic and Carrie Bradshaw’s eclectic flair as Beethoven’s 5th Symphony played in the background.

Versace’s SS25 collection featured wavy zig-zag tops, floral chainmail skirts, and pastel slip dresses. It favored youthful enthusiasm over Versace’s signature flair, with baby pastels, slip dresses, short-shorts, and playful accessories like perfume bottles and champagne stem heels.

7. Missoni

Missoni transported attendees to another world, “one in which chaos becomes order and order keeps the energy of chaos through the endless dance of colors and shapes.” The Missoni SS25 collection was a fusion of futuristic tribal looks, featuring flashy primary colors like red, blue, and yellow, juxtaposed with stark black and white and the brand’s iconic zig-zag patterns.

Missoni’s bold experiment with color and form resulted in an innovative and captivating collection. The brand’s ability to blend tradition with modern style was on full display, taking the fashion house in an exciting new direction.

Milan Fashion Week 2025 celebrated creativity, diversity, and innovation, offering a glimpse into the future of fashion. Each brand brought its unique perspective to the runway, creating a rich tapestry of styles and influences.

This year’s event reminded us of the power of fashion to inspire, transform, and connect us all. As we look forward to the upcoming fashion season, the trends and themes from Milan Fashion Week 2024 will undoubtedly shape our sartorial choices.
