The world’s fashion capital, Paris, was dazzled by haute couture, avant-garde designers, and A-list celebrities at the Paris Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2025 Runaway. The one-week-long event featured promising designs and a creative narrative, delivering themes and dialogues ready to take center stage for the upcoming spring/summer season.
While the weather played hide-and-seek, the runaways had a bright outlook; whether it was the comeback of chic boho or the debut of canary yellow color, Paris Fashion Week ensured everyone took away fashion inspiration. As we anticipate the upcoming trendy styles to bloom, we’ve compiled a list to help you prepare your spring/summer 2025 wardrobe well in advance.
1. The Return of Boho-Chic
Chemena Kamali won hearts with her debut collection for Chloé during FW24, ushering in the soon return of bohemian aesthetics to Chloé‘s feminine, boho roots. She stayed true to her vision with her second collection for Chloé at PFW SS25, further embracing the bohemian style.
The collection had a summery feel, and romance was in the air. The models graced the catwalk in flowy florals, soothing hues, bubble hems, sheer layers, chiffon dresses, billowy blouses, high-waisted jeans, and delicate lace. The show was spectacular, and Kamali succeeded in reviving the boho-chic trend.
2. Power Dressing, the Feminine Way
Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s Personal Style for SS25. Recalling his style, the designer brought to the fashion world a collection that locks in strength, power, and control in a masculine body and looks even stronger and bold in a feminine body.
The collection notes that Saint Laurent women are more complex and have sartorial strength than those linked as demure and attracting seductive perfections. Carefully tailored double-dressed jackets and wide-leg trousers, combined with a shirt and tie, significantly captured the idea of an independent woman.
3. Playful Pastels
While pastels are known for their soft hues, a particular shade is chosen as the year’s color each year. Undoubtedly, pastel is set to bring out the sweetness and playfulness through the spring/summer fashion collections for the upcoming season.
The season sees the debut of canary yellow, and shades like aquamarine will appear through the French luxury fashion house Chanel. Models cat-walked through a larger-than-life open birdcage, inviting one to spread one’s wings. The aquamarine color is a beautiful hue to soothe the soul from within.
4. Layers and more layers
Miuccia Prada deciphered how thoughtful layering, with plenty of draping and textual pairing, can create a surrealist style with a fun and whimsical vibe. The show left the audience pondering not just the garments on display but the more profound meaning attached to them—an exploration of self and a challenge to look beyond the surface.
The Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 collection brought us closer to the essence of playful combinations, such as gym skirts and bloomers paired with cut-out swimsuits. Additionally, sweaters were flipped and worn in alternate ways to invoke the relentless charm of diversity in layers and dismantle the complexes of identity with oneself.
5. Some Space for Wide Waists
Loewe stood magnificent with its exaggerated garment fit. The black silk georgette maxi dress, donned in a white and green floral print, stretched over a flared hoop skirt, made a style statement during the show.
While you move sideways frontways, bouncing, giggling, and flowing in curves, wearing this will make you feel like you are away yet closer to your body. Innovative fabrics, wires, or boning perhaps stitched the garment together playfully and dramatically.
Paris Fashion Week, one of the world’s most prestigious fashion events, showcases the creative visions of renowned luxury houses and global designers for the next generation. This highly anticipated event draws A-list celebrities and global industry professionals to celebrate the artistry of fashion.
Set against the enchanting Parisian skyline, the season exuded a romantic allure, offering a canvas for personal expression and drawing one closer to the trends that would soon become household names for the upcoming season.
